Students from Deerfield Beach High School gathered at the Broward MPO office on Wednesday, December 7 for a "Think Like a Planner" Workshop, where students walked the Cypress Creek area and determined how to make the area more accommodating and safe for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and motorists. Students came to the MPO as part of the Career, Technical, Adult, and Community Education (CTACE) program from Broward County Schools. After walking the Cypress Creek area, students presented to a panel, consisting of Broward MPO Board Members Patricia Good (Broward County School Board) and Commissioner Gloria Battle (Deerfield Beach), and Kittleson Associates consultant Jessica Josselyn. Students worked on presentation skills, as well as learning about the field of urban planning and transportation decision making.
