Who We Are
The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is a dynamic, Federally mandated public agency that serves as a catalyst for change in transportation. With the coordination of 31 local governments and municipalities, more than 1.9 million residents, and over 13 million visitors each year, the Broward MPO enables seamless transportation and redevelopment in Broward County that provides an opportunity for people and communities to grow and thrive.
The Broward MPO is responsible for making policy on local transportation issues and deciding how to collaboratively spend Federal money on important transportation projects that deliver solutions, help keep Broward County moving, and improve quality of life for all.
This Privacy Policy applies to www.browardmpo.org and the Broward MPO's agency-operated services generally. Specific Broward MPO services may publish supplemental privacy notices that provide additional detail about their data practices. Where a supplemental notice exists, it operates alongside this Privacy Policy.
Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.
Information We Collect
When you visit www.browardmpo.org, our hosting provider and the MPO automatically collect technical information about your visit, including:
- IP address and approximate geographic region;
- Browser type, operating system, and device characteristics;
- Pages viewed, referring URL, and date and time of access; and
- Aggregate analytics used to maintain and improve the website.
If you submit a contact form, public-input form, records request, complaint, or other voluntary communication, we collect the information you provide so we can respond. We do not require visitors to create an account to access public information on the site.
The Broward MPO also operates the unified search application at search.browardmpo.org, which retrieves and indexes public content from third-party APIs. See “Third-Party APIs and YouTube API Services” below for additional detail.
Cookies
The MPO website uses cookies to enable certain functions. Cookies do not contain personal information and may be declined through your browser settings, although some features may not function as intended without them.
The cookies set by this website include:

Embedded Content From Other Websites & External Links
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, maps, social media posts) or external links that are provided for convenience but not necessarily endorsed by the MPO. External content is not the responsibility of the MPO, and users should exercise caution when interacting with it.
Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Third-Party APIs and YouTube API Services
Certain Broward MPO services retrieve and display publicly available content through third-party APIs. In particular, the unified search application at search.browardmpo.org uses YouTube API Services to index and display videos published on the Broward MPO's official YouTube channel.
By using a Broward MPO service that incorporates YouTube content — including the unified search application and any YouTube videos embedded on this website — you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Information accessed via YouTube API Services is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
The Broward MPO does not request, store, or use authenticated YouTube user data. Only publicly available metadata (such as titles, descriptions, thumbnails, captions, publish dates, and view counts) is retrieved through the YouTube Data API v3, and only for videos published on the Broward MPO's own channel.

Who We Share Your Data With
We treat all voluntarily provided information, including any opt-in details and consent you provide, in accordance with Florida Statutes and our commitment to user privacy. We do not sell information collected through this website.
We may share information with:
- Service providers and infrastructure vendors that operate the website and related services on our behalf, only to the extent necessary to perform those services;
- Third parties in response to lawful requests, subpoenas, or other legal process, or where disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety; and
- The public, as required under Florida public records law (see also the Florida public records notice in “Who We Are” above).
Opt-in Consent Statement: No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates.
How Long We Retain Your Data
When you visit the MPO website, technical information such as your domain name, IP address, the date and time, pages visited, your browser and operating system, and referring site is collected for aggregate analytics and site improvement, and is retained in server logs for a period consistent with our recordkeeping obligations.
Communications and submissions you send to the MPO (for example, through a contact form or public-input form) are retained in accordance with applicable records-retention schedules and Florida public records law.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
You may request information about, copies of, or correction of any personal data the Broward MPO holds about you. You may also request deletion of personal data, except where we are required to retain it for administrative, legal, or records-retention reasons under Florida law. Where Your Data is Sent
Information submitted to the website may be processed by hosting providers, communications platforms, and similar service providers acting on behalf of the Broward MPO. Where applicable, automated tools may screen submissions for spam, abuse, or security threats.
Security
The MPO website uses SSL/HTTPS and reasonable safeguards to protect information transmitted to and from the website. However, no website is completely secure. The MPO may monitor traffic and activity to detect intrusions and other malicious activity, and evidence of criminal activity may be shared with law enforcement agencies.
Changes to This Policy
The Broward MPO may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here; please review periodically.
