The committees of the Broward MPO are separated into two categories: MPO Board committees and advisory committees. The various MPO Board committees are comprised of MPO Board members and exist to serve a particular purpose. Advisory committees are made up of individuals from outside the organization who advise the MPO Board on matters related to their areas of expertise. For information on a specific committee, see below.
Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)

The Broward MPO established the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to advise and provide expertise for the MPO's decision-making process and to provide valuable assessment of MPO plans and programs. The TAC is comprised primarily of engineers, planners, and other professionals who represent local governments and transportation agencies. These individuals serve in an advisory capacity by providing recommendations to the MPO Board based on current scientific information, technical sufficiency, accuracy and completeness of studies, plans, and programs.
The TAC meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. in the MPO Board Room, located in the Trade Centre South Building at 100 West Cypress Creek Road, 6th Floor, Suite 650, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. These meetings are open to the public and participation is encouraged.
For more information on upcoming TAC meetings, please see the MPO's Agendas & Minutes and Calendar pages.
Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC)

The Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) is a committee comprised of representatives and members of the public who are interested in participating in the transportation planning process. The members of the CAC represent a broad cross section of Broward's population, and include members from various cities, towns, and community organizations. These members provide the MPO with valuable insight into local communities and help to form the urban landscape by acting as a voice for public opinion relating to general transportation issues. The committee reviews and provides recommendations to the MPO Board on transportation plans and programs, taking into consideration the impacts these plans and programs have on their local communities. The CAC is continually looking for individuals and organizations interested in either serving on the committee or attending regularly scheduled meetings.
The CAC meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month in the MPO Board Room, located in the Trade Centre South Building at 100 West Cypress Creek Road, 6th Floor, Suite 650, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 at 6:00 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and participation is encouraged.
For more information on upcoming CAC meetings, please see the MPO's Agendas & Minutes and Calendar pages.

The members and advisors of the FTAC represent a broad spectrum of the freight community, including: warehouse owners, industrial realtors, shipping companies, trucking companies and organizations, railroads, freight forwarders, importer/exporters, truck parking, and distribution companies. The MPO established the FTAC to provide a forum for an open dialogue where the freight community can gain insight into the MPO’s decisions and upcoming projects and provide much needed industry input to decision-makers regarding freight transportation priorities and expenditures.
The FTAC meets quarterly on the third Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. The primary meeting location is the MPO Board Room, located in the Trade Centre South Building at 100 West Cypress Creek Road, 6th Floor, Suite 650, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
