The Broward MPO is conducting a corridor feasibility study with the goal of creating a locally supported conceptual design for the segment of Atlantic Blvd., from West of Powerline Rd. to just east of I-95, that provides roadway, safety and infrastructure enhancements. This study will evaluate multiple projects identified in the Route to 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) along Atlantic Blvd.
What are the goals and objectives?
- Evaluate innovative intersection improvements at the intersection of Powerline Rd. and Atlantic Blvd.
- Conduct a feasibility analysis for a Roadway-Railroad Grade Separation at the South Florida Rail Corridor (SFRC) and Atlantic Blvd. Intersection
- Assess for safety improvements for all users throughout the corridor
- Provide recommendations for infrastructure hardening along the corridor
