On February 2, 2023, Safe Streets Summit registrants are welcome to attend the following in-depth workshops sponsored by EXP and WSP! Please note that these In-Depth Workshops occur simultaneously with the Mobile Workshops.

Workshop #1: (1:15 pm - 3:15 pm) Sponsored by EXP and presented by the Dutch Cycling Embassy. About: The workshop, led by Chris Bruntlett of the Dutch Cycling Embassy will focus on building complete biking networks, taking into consideration the CROW Manual design principles of successful network design: safety, comfort, cohesion, directness, and attractiveness. BONUS: Workshop registrants will receive codes to redeem access to view "Together We Cycle," a documentary investigating the critical events that led to the revival of the Dutch cycling culture!

Workshop #2: (3:30 pm - 5:00 pm) Sponsored by WSP. Safe and Resilient Streets: Designing the Streets of Tomorrow. About: This workshop will focus on balancing the needs of communities to better utilize limited public right-of-way to incorporate their immediate-term needs of safety, access, and mobility while integrating long-term climate resilience. This workshop will present the latest trends in street design partnered with holistic resiliency methodology to inform an interactive session on designing the streets of tomorrow. Up to three real-life south Florida projects will be redesigned in this workshop. As our cities densify, our communities demand more from their streets. Our Streets must be safe, sustainable, multimodal, and resilient all while accommodating the needs of all the users: a child biking to school, a package delivery person, and people commuting on bikes, transit, or cars.

February 3, 2023, Plenary Sessions:

National speakers presenting on innovative transportation efforts, focusing on how we can embrace change for the better to reclaim streets for people, not just cars, and improve safety, health, economic development, and mobility for all.
