The MPO Team is planning something really special during the entire mornth of March for Let's Go Biking! this year. This year's event will be virtual and encourage those of all ages and abilities to participate. Our new Broward Complete Streets Bike Map release is right around the corner and will be a HUGE part of this event since this year marks the first time the MPO will issue an Interactive Online Version of the map!

The Broward MPO, in collaboration with the cities of Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach, has launched a new rail safety campaign, “Don’t Risk It.” The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of reckless behavior around trains and railroad crossings and reduce the rising accident rates in the region.
On June 8, the Broward MPO was awarded a $15.4 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). FRA Deputy Administrator Jennifer Mitchell made the announcement at the MPO’s Board of Directors meeting.
Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick joined officials from the City of Pompano Beach and the Broward MPO at the new Pompano Beach Senior Activity Center to celebrate the completion of the $21 million TIGER and announce a series of recently awarded grants that equal $30 million to help create safer roads and better transportation options.
