The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is embarking on a new, interactive initiative “ Speak UP Broward Online Events” to connect with the public during times of social distancing.
Join the Broward MPO on Thursday, June 25 as we kick off the first in a series of Speak Up Broward Online events! These events will bring together transportation professionals once a month for an hour-long conversation on a variety of different topics. We're kicking off this exciting series with a panel discussing first-last mile connections in Broward.

Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)’s 2025 State of the Region & Annual Awards presented by Memorial Healthcare System will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort (321 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd.). WPLG Local 10 Anchor Jacey Birch will host this prominent event organized by the Broward MPO and local partners.
The Broward MPO, in collaboration with the cities of Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach, has launched a new rail safety campaign, “Don’t Risk It.” The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of reckless behavior around trains and railroad crossings and reduce the rising accident rates in the region.
On June 8, the Broward MPO was awarded a $15.4 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). FRA Deputy Administrator Jennifer Mitchell made the announcement at the MPO’s Board of Directors meeting.
