The Broward MPO has been awarded an $11.4 million dollar Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for five Complete Streets projects in Broward. These projects will help transform Broward’s roadways to improve safety and access for all users of the road.

The 2016 TIGER application was a partnership between the MPO, Broward County, the Florida Department of Transportation and the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Pompano Beach. Streets in those cities will be upgraded with a combination of bike lanes, pedestrian lighting, drainage improvements, redesigned with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) friendly sidewalks, and more.
